Network Engineer (Re-advertisement)
Salary: R657 558 – R 774 576 p.a. inclusive of benefits
Location: KZN Regional Office, Pietermaritzburg (Ref No. SAS KZN S7/2017)
Candidates should hold a B Degree or relevant 3 year tertiary qualification in Information
Technology coupled with 1 – 2 years management experience with minimum three years (3)
experience in ICT network engineering; a valid driver’s license is essential.
The incumbent will design, implement, install and maintain/control of network, routers and
switches (WAN/LAN); Evaluate WAN network performance and upgrade or degrade as
necessary (network management tools); Maintain up-to-date network documentation;
Investigate ways of monitoring ICT network usage to enable statistical analysis of usage
identifying opportunities for performance improvement; Set up user accounts, permissions
and passwords; Diagnostic and resolution and post implementation support of telephony
system; Perform proactive monitoring of WAN/LAN/VPN and make necessary
recommendations to resolve and ensure optimal performance; Planning future
improvements, suggesting IT solutions to business problems; Evaluate and recommend
new network products with a view to optimizing network performance and reliability;
Document network inventory; Ensure that recommended best practices are adhered to;
Compile and deliver root cause analysis; Manage SLA; Develop/implement strategies to
ensure optimization of the unit service delivery, resource utilization and client satisfaction
index.

Assistant Manager: Personnel Provisioning & Maintenance
Salary: R334 545 – R 394 065 p.a. exclusive of benefits
Location: KZN Regional Office, Pietermaritzburg (Ref No. SAS KZN S8/2017)
Candidates should have a B-degree and/or 3 year tertiary qualification in Human Resource
Management, Public Management or Public Administration coupled with 3-5 years
supervisory experience in Human Capital Management environment; Computer literacy and
a valid driver’s license are essential.
The incumbent will coordinate/facilitate recruitment and selection; Manage the
Administration of conditions of services; Administration of the establishment and Human
resource records; Supervise staff; Administer service delivery improvement in the Unit;
Manage the administration of exits/ termination of services as well as implementation on
Oracle and ensure safekeeping of records.

Assistant Manager: Management Accounting
Salary: R334 545 – R 394 065 p.a. exclusive of benefits
Location: KZN Regional Office, Pietermaritzburg (Ref No. SAS KZN S9/2017)
Candidates should have a B Degree or 3 year tertiary qualification in Accounting/Internal
Auditing /Cost and Management Accounting coupled with 3-5 years supervisory experience
in internal control and/or internal audit; Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act
(PFMA), Treasury instructions, Department delegation and policy development. Computer
literacy and a valid driver’s license are essential.
The incumbent will examine and evaluate existing internal control measures and ensure
compliance with PFMA, Treasury regulations and other legislative requirement; Assist in the
coordination of Audit information; Design, develop and train personnel on financial policies,
procedures and delegation; Communicate the Audit findings to relevant managers then
coordinate and consolidate management response to Auditors; Develop and implement
financial risk management strategy as well as Audit action plan; Perform follow-up
investigation on defaults to internal control, policies and procedures on reported cases of
fruitless and wasteful expenditure; Irregular expenditure, losses and damage to state
property; Perform pre and post-audit functions; Arrange meetings of Regional Audit Steering
committee and financial misconduct and loss control committee (FMLC); Report monthly
progress on fruitless and wasteful expenditure, irregular expenditure and audit action plan;
Supervise and manage subordinates in Audits; Ensure development and training of
subordinates.

Assistant Manager: Supply Chain Management
Salary: R334 545 – R 394 065 pa exclusive of benefits.
Location: KZN Regional Office (Ref No. SAS KZN S10/2017)
Candidates should hold a relevant B Degree or 3 year tertiary qualification with Financial
Accounting and purchasing as major subject coupled with 3-5 years’ experience in the
various disciplines related to financial management; Knowledge, experience, interpretation
and application of accrual accounting and GRAP standards will be an added advantage;
entity and other relevant regulations; ERP knowledge on Oracle or SAP or AccPacc or accrual
accounting compliant systems and a valid driver’s license are essential.
The incumbent will implement the operation plan of the demand and acquisition unit; Implement
the Demand plan for year, reconcile and submit consolidated demand plan, monitor monthly
requisition register, check compliance relating to the evaluation report, approve orders based on
the stipulated delegations, training the End user on demand plan, provide reports on order,
commitments and accruals, clear encumbrance order and sub-ledger period close exception
reports. Ensure compliance to supply chain management regulations and policies. Monitor
compliance to contract (key accounts management and provide report, develop supplier
performance monitoring system, manage supplier database per commodity and provide reports
on database update. Provide internal control services. Assist in the implementation of financial
Accounting operational resources.

Practitioner: Facilities Management
Salary: R281 418 – R331 497 p.a. exclusive of benefits
Location: KZN Regional Office, Pietermaritzburg (Ref No. SAS KZN S11/2017)
Candidates should hold a B degree or a 3 year tertiary qualification in Public Management and
Administrative/related spheres coupled with 1-2 years appropriate experience in Facilities and
Auxiliary Services; Knowledge of PFMA and other related legislation; Computer literacy and a
valid driver’s license is essential.
The incumbent will support the management of the Unit: Facilities Management and Auxiliary
Support Services through the implementation of operational plans in line with available
resources; Coordinate facilities maintenance and auxiliary support for the Region; Liaise with
external clients to address Regional accommodation and maintenance requirements; Maintain
management information sources in relation to Supply Chain Management and collect and
analyze data; Manage the performance and development of staff in the immediate span of control
in line with SASSA’s policy.

Unit Coordinator X2
Salary: R226 611 – R266 943 p.a. exclusive of benefits
Location: KZN Regional Office, Pietermaritzburg (Ref No. SAS KZN S12/2017)
Candidates should hold a Senior Certificate coupled with 2-3 years appropriate secretarial,
financial and human resource experience; Experience in document management, preparation of
documents; Ability to take minutes and sound understanding of government policies is
necessary; Computer literacy is essential and a valid driver’s license will serve as an added
advantage.
The incumbent will arrange meetings and workshops, manage and maintain Senior Managers
diaries and schedule appointments; Make travel arrangements for the staff in the Units; Complete
and process claims forms for the staff within the units; File records and documents for the Senior
Managers; Implement and manage the electronic document tracking system; Control the
incoming and outgoing correspondence within the Units; Professional formatting and finalisation
of submissions, presentations, reports, etc, Type, fax and photocopy documents and records;
Record telephone messages for Senior Managers and update them accordingly.
