Minimum educational qualification:

General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std. 7).


Appropriate experience in the operating of a high volume switchboard and a messaging and paging system.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

Good  interpersonal skills.

Excellent telephone etiquette.

Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Duties (key result areas/outputs):

Effective telecommunication and support service to the institution.

Handle all internal and external calls and general enquiries.

Print and distribute monthly telephone accounts.

Report all faults and problems with switchboard.

Provide relief secretarial, clerical and administrative support to the supervisor.
