MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE & OTHER OPPORTUNITIES
The bursary will cover the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation, meals, prescribed textbooks and a monthly allowance.
Students will also be able to partake in paid vacation work, where they will gain invaluable working experience. On completion of studies, you will be required to work at Glencore for the equal duration of the bursary award.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and required to attend an interview with Glencore Alloys. If you do not receive any feedback within 21 days of the application deadline, regard your application as unsuccessful.
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- South African citizen
- Currently in Matric OR have completed Matric
- Studying or intend on studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Current Matric students: must achieve a minimum “B” symbol for Mathematics, Science and English
- Current 1st or 2nd year students: must achieve a 100% pass rate
- Strong academic record
- *Preference will be given to students who reside in local communities of Glencore Alloys operations
